How many times do I have to tell you, seems to be what comes from my mouth every single night around the same time...bedtime with kids! Whether it is having them log off whatever electronic device they are on, or turn the tv off, brush their teeth, or get pj's on: it seems to go in one ear and out the other. Of course this is not the only time of day those words flow from my lips. I don't wish to be Mommy grumpy pants at night, but low and behold that is me through and through. I suppose it is not 100% on the kids, I may be rushing them just a bit of course when it hits a certain time. I mean, come on, don't we all long for that time of night when you can just sit in bed, put your feet up and just breathe for a few minutes taking in all that silence! So this week; I am going to work on not losing my patience with my children over some few extra alone time minutes for myself, which will inevitably be there anyhow, just a bit later is all. Wow, this will be the real test too, in fact, this week is Spring Break for my kiddos, and myself, as I work at the school. This many hours together will most definitely give my teenager increased anxiety, cause my middle child to stress too much, and my youngest will go bonkers if she doesn't have every one of the hours filled with entertainment!!!!
My Plan: Don't sweat the small stuff! Don't be too quick to say No. Hear the kids out. Worry less about household chores and more about that moments memories!
